Pastors Daniel and Debbie Erickson provide the pastoral oversight for Covenant Training Institute and the extensive areas of prayer, care, and education for Covenant Church.
This dynamic couple has experienced the outpouring of God's favor upon their lives, demonstrated by their inspiring lifestyle of obedience and submission to God's leading. After college and a brief stint as hippies, Daniel and Debbie both received Christ in 1974 and began to grow quickly in their relationship with the Lord. Along with several other couples, feeling the call of God, they moved from Denver, Colorado to a small town in Wisconsin in order to start a church plant. In 1985, God called the Ericksons to Dallas, Texas and in 1994 they joined Covenant Church.
Their journey at Covenant has seen them elevated from Life Team Leaders to Elders to Pastors with a continual increase in authority and scope of responsibility. They have built a solid team of Intercessory Prayer Leaders, Nursing Home and Hospital Ministry teams, Adult Singles, Single Parents, Life Coaches, New Believers and Altar Ministry, Adult Education, and the CTI Schools of Business and Ministry. Through their leadership of Covenant Training Institute, they have become spiritual parents to dozens of church employees, elders, and leaders in missionary and parachurch organizations.
Daniel and Debbie have six children and four grandchildren. Their leadership within their home has been fruitful, and as a result, Covenant Church has been blessed to have several of their children serve in many areas of responsibility as volunteers within the ministry and on the church staff. Pastors Daniel and Debbie live in Carrollton with four of their six children and their three black labs. In addition to being active in a number of local prayer and community organizations, they enjoy traveling, reading, swimming, and spending time with their family.
Mike Hayes is the founding and Senior Pastor of Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas. Mike committed his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and the call of ministry at an early age. After completing college, he established a wide-spread evangelistic ministry that took him across the United States as well as several foreign countries.
In 1973, Mike married Kathy Parker, who at that time was part of a very popular music ministry with her family, “The Singing Parkers”. In 1976, after the birth of their first child, Mike and Kathy moved to the Dallas, Texas, area to establish Covenant Church. Beginning with only a vision, Covenant Church and Covenant Church’s Spanish-language congregation, Mundo de Fe, have grown to over 15,000 members across 12 locations in the North Texas area. Mike Hayes continues to “follow the cloud” with intensity and vision as a Pastor, author, radio and television host. His best selling book, “God’s Law of First Things”, has been widely acclaimed for its revelation and insight into the necessity of putting God first in our lives - and the blessing that awaits those who do.
Currently, not only Pastoring and Apostolically covering the 5 Covenant Church Based campuses, Pastor Hayes is also the founder of Churches in Covenant International. This CIC Affiliate Network is a ministry network that desires affiliation with and the Apostolic covering of Churches in Covenant International. The ministries in Affiliation with Covenant Church are located throughout the nation from West to East coast.
Dr. Mike Hayes recently received his Doctorate of Divinity from Faith Christian University. Mike and Kathy reside in the Dallas area. They have two children and recently celebrated the birth of their fifth grandchild.
Kathy Hayes is a woman of leadership possessing a great love for God's people. She and her husband, Mike, had a vision to build a church in the Dallas, Texas area. In 1976, after the birth of their first child, that vision became reality as Covenant Church was established in Carrollton, Texas.
Since their humble beginnings in 1976, Covenant Church, combined with Covenant Church’s Spanish-speaking congregation, Mundo de Fe, has grown to more than 12,000 members across 12 locations in the North Texas area. Through the apostolic leadership of Pastors Mike and Kathy Hayes, Covenant Church and Mundo de Fe generously support missionaries, churches, schools and orphanages throughout the world.
Kathy is known for speaking a very sound word seasoned with a lively style that allows for the movement of the Holy Spirit. In recent years, God has given Kathy an even greater anointing to teach and preach the Word of God. She is frequently invited to speak at conferences, both locally and nationally, and is a true spiritual mentor to women in the Body of Christ. She is happiest when she is helping other women recognize their God-given talents and abilities as well as their place of service and fulfillment within the Body of Christ. As a spiritual mother to thousands, she exudes a rare wisdom and authority in the spirit.
The Hayes reside in the Dallas area with their son, Stephen and his wife, Erika Hayes, along with their daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Amie (Hayes) Dockery. Pastors Mike and Kathy Hayes are also the proud grandparents of five beautiful grandchildren.
